Getting to Krugers

Got some cash. It always feels like Monopoly money.

We are on our way to Krueger national park and it has been a long drive through the Rolling hills of South Africa.
A shanty town

It's a trip driving on the left. It isn't bad when you get going but pulling out of different driveways is really when it will get you. We are driving a VW polo which would make any of the Aubrey's proud.

So far our animal count consists of some small antelope. Pretty cool though. Now we are a little lost and having ask people for directions. We just asked some guys in these old concrete type houses. I guess they were traditional healers. These people are some backwoods folks. Most of them don't even know of the existence of the park despite being a short distance from it.
It's been nice having Thabang here with is because these people did not speak English.

Further on the drive and things are incredible. It's a beautiful mountain pass with orange groves and coffee plantations. Also dotted through out the mountains are these bright purple trees. It really is beautiful countryside.

We stopped by a fruit stand and bought a huge bag of oranges for 25 rand. Best buy so far on the trip.  Add a bag of bananas for 5 rand.

The hostel we are staying at is just outside of the park entrance so we will be getting up early to be sure we get the best chance to see animals. The place is pretty cool. Has a real safari feel. Which in this case means we are staying in a wood house with a corrugated steel roof. Pretty basic but really cool feel to it.

The house part of the hostel has a straw thatched roof. I am excited to be here.

The park should be fun and hopefully I will be able to have some decent pictures finally.

Snacks

Check out the flavor.
