Today was our hike up table mountain. We stopped at the cable station to ask about directions but they said they did not recommend hiking up it. They explained there were gale force wind and so....we decided to hike it. We probably should have listened. It's beautiful up here when you can see anything. We get the occasional break in the clouds.
It's actually impressive to see the clouds spill over the mountains. They blow over the mountain and spill down the edge. But it really quite cold and the visibility is low
It's cold so we sought refuge in this dug out structure we aren't supposed to be in.
It's an adventure but far from ideal circumstances. It would have been nice to see more from the top but it really was a great time.
We then took a mini bus out to Clifton bay. It was a gorgeous beach. It had collectively the most beautiful people I have ever seen. It was crazy. We hung out there. Didn't really swim but no one did. It was freezing cold. Still a really fun and relaxing time after a pretty taxing morning.
Mini busses are the new preferred method of transportation. We are the only white people on either of the rides but it cost about seventy cents to take it out to the beach and it was a pretty good ride. Our ride to table mountain was closer to seven dollars and was half as long. This country is gorgeous. It seems like everywhere we go is just another beautiful area to explore.
